Mélanie Baillairgé
Trained in graphic design at UQAM, Mélanie Baillairgé began her career in 2000 as an editorial illustrator.
Her work, recognized internationally, combines a strong visual sensibility with compelling storytelling. She has published several books, including a graphic novel with Alain Farah, and has received two grants from the Canada Council for the Arts. Her most recent book, co-written with filmmaker Paul Tom, earned a special mention at the Governor General’s Literary Awards.
A committed entrepreneur, Mélanie co-founded the multimedia agency M. Edgar and the art gallery Madame Edgar, where she led the artistic direction of major projects for clients such as Couche-Tard, Fednav, and the New Media Festival. She went on to work as an art director for leading brands including Tennis Canada, Hydro-Québec, Bombardier, and the Société de transport de Montréal, and was named one of the top 200 art directors by Strategy magazine.
Now at Supply + Demand, she brings the depth of her creative journey to designing visual projects that are bold, emotionally resonant, and rooted in hybrid forms of storytelling—blending illustration, spatial design, and live performance.
